REDEX has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Instituto Totum. This development marks the first step of REDEX’s expansion to Latin America and is a testament to REDEX’s ambition to accelerate the global decarbonisation of energy.
The MoU was signed by REDEX Founder and CEO Kang Jen Wee and Instituto Totum Director Fernando Giachini Lopes at I-REC Day Brazil which was held on 21 March 2024 at Sao Paolo. The MoU aims to deepen mutual collaboration and pave the way to increase the adoption and issuance of RECs in Brazil by creating and deepening the pool of liquidity in REDEX’s renewable energy certificate (REC) exchange.
In addition to the MoU signing at the event, Jen Wee made a presentation and shared more about how REDEX is reshaping the REC ecosystem while Chief Operating Officer Lee Chee Yong discussed REDEX’s digital solutions that are accelerating the global transition to net zero. Executive Director Xiao Zhaotan was a panellist and Chief Financial Officer Guai Ti Howe was a delegate at the event.
A big thanks to Instituto Totum for hosting the event. Team REDEX had the opportunity to catch up with our investor Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), meet partner The I-TRACK Foundation, and forge connections with other organisations to promote the REC market in Brazil. It was indeed a fruitful trip!
