COP28 – What It Means for The World

From Nov 30 to Dec 12, the world will set its eyes on COP28 and its developments on how countries will be stepping up climate actions and the goals they will be setting.

A key significance of COP28 will be the global stocktake on how countries are performing since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015, in order to cap global warming to the 1.5-degree limit.

Since 2021, governments, businesses and civil society groups have submitted documents detailing country-level climate data and reports and condensed into a synthesis report.

The report includes actions to mitigate climate change, how to manage the effects of climate change and the state of climate finance and technology transfer.

Calls for countries to regularly revise their 2030 NDCs have been made during the COP27 conference in Egypt to make them more ambitious, given how rapidly climate change has been exacerbating over the last few years.

A positive outcome would be a concise conclusion from the stocktake findings to produce more ambitious 2030 and 2035 targets.

Our CEO and team will be at COP28. If you’re attending this event, we’d love to connect and exchange ideas on mitigating climate change. Don’t hesitate to reach out and share your insights!
