On 26 July 2024, REDEX participated in a Green Electricity and Carbon Markets Forum organised by Jiangning Development Zone and the Green Partnership of Industrial Parks. The event was held in in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.
As a leader in carbon peaking among China’s domestic development zones, Jiangning Development Zone was selected as one of the country’s inaugural national carbon peaking pilot parks in 2023.
REDEX COO Lee Chee Yong participated in the Forum, which attracted about 100 attendees in total, including members of the Carbon Peak Leadership Group, the Green Partnership of Industrial Parks, officials from the Economic Development Bureau, representatives of the Green Innovation Center, and delegates from enterprises based in Jiangning Development Zone.
During the meeting, Mr Shao Xianhui, Director of the Green Innovation Center of Jiangning Development Zone, covered green electricity, green certificates and the power trading framework. Mr Zhang Haoxiang, technical director of the Green Partnership of Industrial Parks, introduced CCER, VCS and carbon trading mechanisms. REDEX Head of China Liu Wei also shared the latest developments in global I-REC(E) markets.
