REDEX registers more than 17,000 Distributed Rooftop Solar Devices in 8 months

From 2014 to 2023, less than 9,000 devices across all renewable energy types were registered onto Evident, the I-REC(E) Registry.

REDEX is thus thrilled to announce that we have successfully registered and onboarded a total of 17,564 inverters belonging to 17,360 distributed solar rooftop devices to the Registry between March 2024 to October 2024. The devices are located in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore with total capacity of more than 500 MW.

REDEX’s innovative solutions are accelerating device registration and the increase in RECs supply

In the past, registration and onboarding of renewable energy devices was resource-intensive and time-consuming, making it economically unfeasible for each individual distributed solar device to be registered for Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) issuance.

To streamline the registration process, REDEX developed solutions which automate the process of consolidating and chanelling information from multiple rooftop devices to REHash, Asia’s leading REC trading platform developed by REDEX.

As REDEX is an I-TRACK Accredited Platform Operator and REHash is API-integrated with the I-REC(E) Registry, the consolidated information on REHash is then seamlessly sent to the I-REC(E) Registry to bulk register the devices and issue the RECs.

REDEX’s innovative solutions has simplified the device registration process for distributed rooftop solar owners. The streamlined process is accelerating both the onboarding of distributed rooftop solar to the I-REC(E) Registry, and the increase in RECs supply, providing businesses with more options for decarbonisation.

REDEX is able to register up to 50,000 devices daily

With our innovative digital solutions, REDEX is now equipped to register up to 50,000 solar rooftop inverters per day. This scaling milestone significantly enhances our device grouping and management capacity, enabling us to support larger operational demands and improve system reliability.

REDEX is keen to work with various I-REC(E) issuers to deploy our proven solutions outside of Asia, particular in the Latin America and Middle East markets. We look forward to connecting with potential partners and accelerate the global transition to net zero!
