REDEX Marks Earth Day by Supporting Elimination of Single-Use Plastics

Earth Day is an annual event held on 22 April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held in 1970, #EarthDay now sees more than one billion people in over 190 countries participating in a range of events to protect the Earth.

The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Planet vs Plastics”. Single-use plastics are mostly unsuitable for recycling and not biodegradable. Over time, they accumulate in the environment and cause harm to natural ecosystems and human health.

At #REDEX, in addition to accelerating the world’s transition to clean and #renewable energy, we also strive to do our part in phasing out plastic use. In 2024, we rolled out three initiatives:

✔ Eliminated single-use plastic water bottles from meetings

✔ Eliminated single-use plastic cups use in our office by providing reusable ceramic mugs to employees

✔ Supported the elimination of single-use plastic bags by providing reusable cotton canvas tote bags at events

Every action counts and REDEX is excited to be part of the global sustainability movement to bring about #change for a greener and more sustainable Earth!
